All I can say is WOW! When the Funko Frozen Pops went on pre-order last week, everyone was excited. They are absolutely adorable. They capture that Disney charm and Funko vibe especially with Olaf, who is a fan favorite and my personal favorite out of the bunch. They did a pretty great job with the others and surprisingly a great job with Sven. It translated really well into Funko POP! form and I can’t wait to pick these up. Now let’s compare the characters to the Pops!
Anna
One of many protagonists of the movie, the princess of Arendelle and the Elsa’s younger sister, absolutely adorable as I expected with all the characters from this Disney series, from the pigtails down to the freckles, details are clearly present in this amazing incarnation. Voiced by the charming Kristen Bell, she brings a certain charm to the character that the audience can relate to.
Elsa
The snow queen herself and Anna’s elder sister. She is the MacGuffin of the film and remains one of the most important elements of the film. At the same time she is also responsible for delivering one of the most endearing, catchy and heartfelt songs you will hear. The transition to the POP! form definitely works here, as with most of the POP! figures that have been release. Capturing the elegance of the snow queen and adding little nuances such as the snowflake on her hand is a nice touch that definitely makes it much sought after piece.
Olaf
The breakout character of the movie and a worldwide sensation! The adorable, charismatic snowman who just wants to experience the wonders of summer. Voice actor Josh Gad brought so much life into the character that he stood out from the rest of the cast, from the his charming irony to his catchy vocal hit “In Summer” this incarnation of the beloved snowman is definitely worth the pick up, his transition in this form absolutely works, capturing the charm that Olaf oozes, while adding Funko’s charm.
Kristoff
A mountain man accompanied by his reindeer sidekick and best friend, Sven. He is initially is at odds with Anna, but while on their search for Anna’s sister, Elsa, he eventually starts to fall in love with her.
Sven
Kristoff’s sidekick and right hand “reindeer”. Always by his side and there to save, protect and bail Kristoff out of danger. I think the transition to the POP! form work extremely well, capturing the essence of a reindeer without losing that Funko charm.
As for the movie, I highly recommend it, it has heart and charm and a little bit of a tear jerker, and you will definitely be singing by the time the credits roll with a big smile on your face. These also make a great Christmas presents, especially little kids, if anyone plans to get that over with a couple months in advance. I hope you catch the Frozen-mania like I have!
