This past Wednesday, I was invited down to Ripley’s Believe It or Not! down on 42nd St. in the heart of New York City, Times Square, for a special event during the Living Dead Dolls “Sweet 16” Year of Celebration. This year, the Living Dead Dolls, with over 27 Series of dolls, as well as special editions, became the longest running horror doll collectible. To celebrate, they created a Coffin Time Capsule that will be entombed in a mausoleum until their 66.6th Anniversary and, to kick off the search for the perfect spot, they held an unveiling ceremony at Ripley’s. Accompanied by “Hearsula”, the creators of Living Dead Dolls Ed Long, Damien Glomeck, and Michael “Mez” Markowitz were on hand for the unveiling, removing the coffin from Hearsula.

Fans lined up for hours prior to the event, some decked out in makeup, in order to see the coffin and meet the Living Dead Doll creators. 160 exclusive “Sweet 16” commemorative coins were given out to fans and press in attendance, and everyone was treated to discount admissions to Ripley’s Believe It or Not, courtesy of Ripley’s.

After the event, the coffin was loaded back up into Hearsula, and off on an adventure to find its’ home for the next 50 years.
