During my Toy Fair coverage, we have already covered new vinyl figures and such coming from Funko, Diamond Select, Mezco, and Kidrobot. However, I also visited a few of the smaller companies out there that are up and coming, putting out some really nice vinyl pieces that deserve a spotlight.
Titan
Titan recently burst on the vinyl scene with their Doctor Who Mini Blind Boxed Sets and large scale vinyls. For 2014, be on the lookout for two new Doctor Who Series, The Geronimo Collection coming in June, featuring the 11th Doctor, and the Gallifrey Collection coming in August, featuring the 10th Doctor. NOTE: These series see the introduction of companions to the sets, something that a lot of us have been asking for for a while now. I am especially excited to see Rose Tyler coming in August.
Also on display was the large scale 9th Doctor, which will be released to go with the already released 10th Doctor, 11th Doctor, Tardis, and Weeping Angel.
In addition to Doctor Who, Titan will be releasing a few new mini sets. First up: Battlestar Galactica. I would assume that this set will be blind boxed.
Next up, a set from The Beatles’ Yellow Submarine. I can only show you concept art, but they had some protos there and they looked pretty sweet. I would hope that this would be a non blind boxed set.
Lastly, Titan announced working partnerships with some other properties. At this point, only the partnerships are known, but for me, Buffy especially sounds promising. Which one is your favorite?
Yes, Anime
I was walking by the Yes, Anime booth when something bright and yellow caught my eye. Props to them for great lighting of the product. I present to you a Spongebob Squarepants Mini Blond Boxed Set.
They also have an open collection of Spongebob Vinyls.
Yes Anime also releases Trexi vinyls. I, for one, am not necessarily a fan, but they look to be popular, and have quite a few lines released, including DC, Spongebob, Happy Tree Friends, and Garfield.
The Loyal Subjects
With the successful releases of the Transformers and GI Joe lines of Minis, The Loyal Subjects, based out of California, will be releasing more in 2014, including a Transformers Series 2, Mr. Potato Head, and Power Rangers. Also be in the look out for mini boxed sets, carded single figures, and large scale figures, including which looks like DIY (Do It Yourself) blank molds.
Which new vinyl line/ set for 2014 are you most looking forward to?
