In late 2019 and early 2020, the deadly brush fires in Australia burned an area twice the size of the state of Florida. It affected people’s homes and killed numerous animals native, and exclusive, to the country. In response to these fires, a lot of companies created special items to raise money for charities tasked with taking care of those lives displaced or damaged due to the fires. Funko was one of these companies.

Teaming up with Popcultcha, the largest Funko retailer in Australia, Funko designed and released theĀ Brushfire Heroes Pop! Vinyl. Let’s take a closer look.

The Pop! Vinyl features a brushfire worker, covered in soot, and comforting a scared and injured koala.

Although this piece sold out pretty quickly (as most charity pieces usually do), it’s great seeing a company taking the time to raise money for a great cause. One day I hope to be able to visit Australia and see that beautiful continent for myself. Hopefully by then, the areas ravaged by the brushfires will have begun to heal.
