For today’s review, I take a look at a Ad Icons Pop! Vinyl that was released earlier this year as part of a promotion with the Diet Dr. Pepper soft drink. Featuring actor/singer Justin Guarini in a role that is memorable, to say the least, here is Lil’ Sweet.

This Pop! was released during a promotion in the beginning of 2020. Hopeful winners would go to a special website and upload a photo of the UPC codes of (3) 20oz bottles of Diet Dr. Pepper and then enter their personal information. While there were hiccups in the entry process, partially due to the tenacity of Pop! collectors, some individuals were lucky enough to get their entry submitted properly. A few weeks later, Lil’ Sweet arrived at their doorstep.

Sadly, these promotional items were shipped in mailers and not in boxes, so some of them arrived with the box crushed. Thankfully, mine arrived in pretty decent shape, all things considering.

Overall, this is a fun Pop1 for my collection. I’ve been a drinker of Diet Dr. Pepper for as long as I can remember, as it is my dad’s favorite soft drink. And, while the character can be annoying in his commercials, it’s a funny kind of annoying. Happy to have him join my Pop! crew.
