What a neat idea! Funko’s new DC Primal Age series takes your classic superheroes and reimagines them in the spirit of the 1980s He-Man figures (my words not Funko’s)

Speaking of Funko, here’s what they had to say:

The ‘80s were an undeniably glorious decade for toys, and action figures in particular. The heroes were ripped and the playsets were epic. Combine that aesthetic with greatest DC Super Heroes and Super-Villains and you get DC Primal Age—a brutal, barbaric world ruled by ferocious warriors. Wonder Woman, Batman, Aquaman and Green Lantern represent DC’s Super Heroes.

DC Super-Villains, Scarecrow, King Shark, Mr. Freeze and  The Joker will stop at nothing to challenge the DC Super Heroes and wreak havoc in this strange world.

Batman rides Ace the Bathound into battle against The Joker Beast.
And all of this takes place around the iconic Batcave, a lair carved from stone and the perfect playset to round out the DC Primal Age collection. The muscles are big and the stakes are even bigger. Hoard them all.
You can buy these exclusively at Amazon!

  1. These remind me of neon Batman figures from the 90s in a bad way. What exactly is the market for what look like bootleg figures?

  2. At least being an Amazon exclusive you won’t see these piled up in stores not moving like the mortal Kombat and horror ones in the same design

  3. Eh, these look so so. I managed to get a transparent blue Mister Freeze one from a panel at NYCC, but I am not sure if I would want any others. Kids may enjoy it, but I don’t think many collectors will be interested in it.
