Welcome to Flashback Friday where I discuss pops from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Anything pop related to the MCU is up for discussion including films and television series. Let’s jump right in with this week’s discussion which was chosen by me since no one correctly answered last week’s trivia from Guardians of the Galaxy. Rocket makes his return to Flashback Friday with three variations including some very stunning exclusives.

Rocket
#48 – Rocket Raccoon

Discussion: I’m bringing the characters from Guardians of the Galaxy back again because there’s a lot to get through and I was just recently on Mission Breakout at Disneyland California Adventure so they’ve been on my mind. You know I wasn’t sure how I was going to feel about the character of Rocket in the film but he very quickly turned into one of my favorites. He’s kind of a scoundrel but he’s got a lot of attitude and he’s very feisty. By the end of the film he tugs on your heart strings because he really cares for Groot and you can feel his pain. I think firecracker is a great word to describe Rocket. He’s fun to watch and be around but he’s also a little dangerous and unpredictable. All of the above is probably why I own several Rocket pops.

Rocket
#48 – Flocked Rocket Raccoon (SDCC 2015)

There are four Rocket pops for Guardians of the Galaxy. If you’re interested in the Ravagers version you can check that out here. The first Rocket was a wide release and could be picked up pretty much wherever pops were sold. I know what you’re thinking. What other variations of Rocket could there possibly be? Well, the last two are both flocked and are exclusive to San Diego Comic Con 2014 and 2015. But then you’re thinking why the heck would they do two flocked Rocket? Rocket from SDCC 2014 is wearing his traditional outfit orange outfit. The Rocket from SDCC 2015 is wearing the Ravagers outfit although the flocked version looks incredibly faded. Check out all of the pictures and let us know which one is your favorite.

Rocket
#48 – Flocked Rocket Raccoon (SDCC 2014)

I sadly don’t own a flocked Rocket yet but I’m hoping that changes in the future. You should be able to pick up the normal version for less than $10.00 online. The 2015 flocked SDCC 2015 exclusive goes for around $15.00 which I think is a great price considering the pop is over two years old. Where it gets a little pricier is the SDCC 2014 flocked exclusive. That one will run you right around $30.00. If you can hunt down some good deals you can probably get all three for $50.00. Please check out our awesome Facebook group where you buy, sell, trade, and get involved with the Funko community.

Trivia: Welcome to the trivia section. Be the first to comment with the correct answers to both questions and you get to choose next week’s pop. You must chose an MCU pop that has yet to be featured in the Flashback Friday series. This week’s questions will come from Guardians of the Galaxy.

Q1: What two years does Guardians of the Galaxy take place?

Q2: What Marvel villain head can be made out on Drax’s left arm?

I hope you enjoyed this week’s article. Please check back next week for a brand new Flashback Friday and as always Excelsior!

I've been an avid Pop MCU collector for the last few years. I've recently focused my collection on Captain America Funko products since he's my favorite Marvel superhero. I've also been collecting and playing the Pokémon Trading Card game for the last decade. I also run and judge events. I'm into Marvel, DC, Pokémon, Disney, The Walking Dead, Game of Thrones, and WWE.
