Hey Gang!

I know I have been a bit absent with my Funko reviews as of late, but that should change. September and October were very busy months for me personally, but here is hoping that the rest of the year remains quiet(er), as I have a lot of reviews to share with you.

Today, I want to take a look at one of the exclusive items that I picked up at this year’s New York Comic Con: the ThunderCats Lion-O and Mumm-Ra Vnyl 2pk. A shared exclusive between the Funko booth at the show and Toys “R” Us stores nationwide, this is the first Vnyl set from the Thundercats line. A second duo in the line, Panthro & Cheetara, is due to be released this December. For now, let’s take a closer look at this 2pk.

While I am not a fan of the Vnyl line in general, I picked up this 2pk. because I loved watching the ThunderCats cartoon as a child. I personally did not care for the look of the Pop! Vinyls when they were released, nor the Dorbz that were also released at NYCC (though that Snarf Dorbz is awesome). I do like the look and detail that the Vnyl line lends to these characters, however. So, for me, this was a must buy.

In this 2pk, Lion-O is featured wearing his Claw Shield and wielding the Sword of Omens, while Mumm-Ra is in his transformed, Ever-Living form.

My only problem? When removed and on his base, my Mumm-Ra has a lean to him, as you can see from the pictures above. I think it more has to do with the way he was assembled, not that his mold is deformed. However, I am not sure if all of them are like this or not. Note: If you also took your Mumm-Ra Vnyl out of box for display, let me know if he leans as well.. Aside from that, I really like the look of these characters.

Overall, I am happy that I could add this to my collection, and am excited that the ThunderCats Vnyl line is continuing. I really hope we eventually get the entire team out of this (I could see Tygra teamed up with the mummy version of Mumm-Ra, and maybe a mini Vnyl 3pk of Wilykit, Wilykat, and Snarf.

If you want to pick up this ThunderCats Vnyl 2pk, it is still available on the Toys “R” Us website. Or you can check out Entertainment Earth to pre-order the Panthro & Cheetara 2pk.
