What We Want: X-Men!

The coolest thing about collecting Funko’s Pop! Vinyls is how diverse the line can be. Your favorite characters from television, movies, and comics are interchangeable with a beloved musician, wrestler, or athlete. I know everyone must have a wishlist of figures they’d love to see happen. With the exclusives and Specialty Series, I don’t think anything is too much to wish for now.

This week brings us the release of the much anticipated Logan, the tenth film in the X-Men franchise, and according to early views, it seems we’re in for quite a treat. The X-Men has one of the most expansive line-ups of characters from any superhero team, and even after two waves and several exclusives, Funko has only scratched the surface of what they can do. So in honor of the new film, we’re going to look at a few other X-Men characters we’d like immortalized in Pop! Vinyl.

5. Bishop

We Want Want: X-Men

We already have Cable (and what a great job Funko did there), but there is one other time travelling X-Men we want. Whether as a hero or a villain, Bishop is wholly compelling. Brand his stylized face with a giant M (for Mutant), arm him with a giant gun, and make his free hand out of transparent red plastic to represent his power, and I think we’re heading in the right direction.

4. X-23

What We Want: X-MenThe beloved clone of Wolverine, X-23 is about to make her debut in the X-Men Cinematic Universe in the upcoming Logan. Originally created for the X-Men: Evolution animated series, she proved so popular that she was quickly introduced into the comics, and the rest is history. Much like Wolverine and Deadpool, it would be easy for her to sport several variant outfits, such as her gray-and-black X-Force uniform or her all too familiar All-New Wolverine duds.

3. Nightcrawler

What We Want: X-Men

Kurt Wagner is, without a doubt, one of the most endearing X-Men members. So far he has made an appearance in two X-Men movies, as well as every animated series, and is a staple in the comics. I honestly would like to see a more dynamic pose with the character, or at least give him one of his swords to play with.

2. Rogue

What We Want: X-Men

A cornerstone character of the X-Men lineup both on and off the screen, I’m honestly surprised we haven’t seen the likes of Rogue yet in Pop form. Though her look has changed over the years, in keeping with the rest of the figures, I would stick with the Jim Lee style of the green-and-yellow bodysuit and jacket, the very same look featured on the animated series.

1. Gambit

What We Want: X-Men

Once one of the most popular X-Men characters (and a personal favorite), the Ragin’ Cajun has had ups and downs over the years in both popularity and storytelling. I can’t think of anyone we need more, featuring his brown trench coat, bo staff, and several glowing playing cards.

So collectors, would you like to see another wave of X-Men characters, or would you rather see some other comic heroes? Are there any X-Men I have neglected?

  1. Rogue and Gambit. My favourite characters. With them in my collection, I might be tempted to get the rest. But it wouldn’t be right without them.

  2. If there’s any chance they guys at Funko read this they must be seeing dollar (and pound) signs seeing Gambit, Rogue & Nightcrawler’s name pop up so much

  3. I like your list but here are some X-Men I would love to have.
    Angel (blue and white uniform)
    Jean Grey (90’s suit)
    Apocalypse (jumbo size)
    Magneto (white and silver outfit)
    Sentinel (jumbo size)
    Northstar (X-Men uniform)
    Mr. Sinister
    Cyclops (red and black uniform)
    X-Man (Nate Grey)
    Namor (X-Men uniform)
    Blob
    Cannonball
    Warlock
    Magik
    Sunspot
    Banshee (yellow and blue uniform)
    Beast (action pose)
    Havok (X-Factor uniform)
    Domino
Uncanny X-Force complete team (Phantomex, Archangel, Warpath, and Psylocke)
AOA (Age of Apocalypse line) Blink, Sabertooth w/Wildchild, Sunfire, Morph, and Wolverine

I know it’s a tall order but maybe Funko can perform miracles! Thanks!

  4. I only recently got into POP! figure-collecting. And I only get those of my own personal favourite characters. Here are a few I’d like to see…

*THE GOOD, THE BAD AND THE UGLY – All three characters: Tuco, Angel-Eyes & Blondie
    *COBRA – Marion Cobretti!
*THE TERMINATOR – a few characters from the original, 1984 classic film.
*ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK – Snake Plissken!
    *DUCKMAN – Duckman and Cornfed!
*FROM DUSK TILL DAWN – a nice two-pack of Seth & Ritchie from the original, 1996 film.
*MAD MAX 2: THE ROAD WARRIOR – Max, Wez and The Humongous would be AWESOME!
*FIRE AND ICE – Larn, Teegra, Nekron and Darkwulf from the Ralph Bakshi animated fantasy classic!
    *RE-ANIMATOR – Herbert West!
*FIRST BLOOD – John Rambo from the original film.

  5. Aside from those, I’d like to see…

    Jubilee (w/shades and bubblegum)
    Jean Gray
    Spiral
    Silver Samurai
    Omega Red
    Sentinel (jumbo)
    Apocalypse (jumbo)

  6. Gambit gambit a thousand times gambit!
I’ve asked on every #askfunko and never got a response.
Dream lineup for the next series would be
    Gambit
    Rogue
    Nightcrawler
    Mr Sinister
    Havok
    X-23
    Angel

  7. I would like a Professor X in a wheelchair more like the movie one instead of the one that looks like a scooter that was already released. A movie version of older Magneto would be cool too!

  8. My top 2 wants for X-Men are the same. The other 3 are great too, so nice list! The only other I’d add is 90’s suit Jean Grey. We get her along with Rogue and Gambit, and we have the full cover to Jim Lee’s X-Men #1, which would be amazing.

  9. I’m with you on Gambit & Nightcrawler. I’m not so hot on Bishop & Rogue, but they are popular too.
Along with Gambit & Nightcrawler (coming out of a Bamf cloud), I’d love to see Havok and Longshot.
Next are more baddies. Juggernaut is coming, but how about Apocalypse and maybe Mr. Sinister.
Lastly, I could imagine a cool Pop of Dazzler or Jubilee with glowing hands.

  10. I just don’t want more store exclusives. I waited for so long for Juggernaut and now that he is announced he is walgreens exclusive.

  11. Jubilee, definitely. Also, new Phoenix Pops, Omega Red, Mr. Sinister, Apocalypse, Sentinel, Lady Deathstrike, Mojo, and Onslaught
