For this Pop! Out of the Box, I want to take a look at the second of the two San Diego Comic Con / Amazon.com shared exclusives. Another release in the Disney line of Pop! Vinyls, here is Cursed Barbossa from the Pirates of the Caribbean line.
This variant of Captain Hector Barbossa shows the captain, along with his monkey Jack, as the cursed undead from the first installment of the Pirates of the Caribbean movies, The Curse of the Black Pearl. Both the variant of Barbossa and Jack look to be remolded heads with repainted bodies.
I love this series of movies, and some of the best scenes from the first movie involved the CGI versions of Barbossa and Captain Jack Sparrow as cursed skeletons. Now that we have a cursed Barbossa, I hope we get one of Sparrow soon… perhaps New York Comic Con? One can only hope.
