Custom Corner: Training in Dagobah

On Dagobah, teach you Yoda will. Through swamps and forests and fog thick enough to cut with a lightsaber, Luke’s Jedi journey truly began in earnest when his path crossed with the wise Master Yoda. This custom POP, created by Kemily Customs, is pulled right from the middle of his training, with a sculpted stone-look base and yoda-filled knapsack.Custom Corner: Training in Dagobah

Both members of Kemily Customs come from a costuming background, providing them with a unique background and approach to their custom figures. When creating their work, they utilize a mix of traditionally used materials for customs, like polymer clay, and less traditional materials like craft foam and moldable plastic, depending on what works best for each custom. “I like to try to make sure we keep expanding the limits of what we’re able to do with our customs and to never stop learning,” noted Emily, one half of the Kemily Customs team.

“All of our customs start with a rather elaborate planning process” she continued. Starting with a commission request for this particular piece, the duo set to work researching existing pieces, finding parts of other figures that would fit with their vision, and pulling from their art-filled backgrounds until the pieces of this custom started to fall into place. Finishing it off with a hand painted exterior, this custom excellently captures the rugged landscape and intense training that Luke underwent while on Dagobah.
