Today we take a look at the June “CYBER” crate from Loot Crate. If you are a fan of Terminator especially, you might love this crate. Personally, I am not much of a fan. Let’s check it out.

1. Exclusive- Prime T-shirt (djkopet designs)

Probably the highlight of this crate is this Transformers/ Tron mashup t-shirt. Pretty nice design. Would have preferred a full on Tron movie design instead.

2. Exclusive- Nerd HQ Sticker Sheet

I will admit, not a bad set of stickers from Nerd HQ, an event held in conjunction with SDCC, created by Zachary Levi. However, no real reason to have them in the crate aside from them being an ad for the event, which I can’t go to.

3. Exclusive- Borderlands ZerO Game Mat

Not a fan of Borderlands. Moving on.

4. Exclusive- Terminator Genisys Endo Skull Replica

IMG_4642

It’s a 1/2 scale model. It looks pretty detailed, but it’s very light weight and I would have loved to have seen a light-up feature. However, I know friends who are living this inclusion, as well as the next one.

5. Exclusive- Terminator Genisys Brain Chip Keychain

For a non-fan of Terminator, getting two collectibles in this crate was a let-down. But again, some of my friends were over the moon.

6. Future Replicant Corporate Logo Patch

The patch, seem here with this month’s button, is a nice nod to Blade Runner… and that’s all I can say about that.

7. Battlestar Galactica Cylon Target Poster Set

My friends who are into BSG like these range posters (no idea if they will actually use them or not). Since I have never seen the show, seems like paper fodder to me.

8. Exclusive- Glow in the Dark Circuit Gadget Pouch

Wow… I don’t even think I can touch how bad this inclusion is. Looks cheap and feels cheap.

Overall thoughts: A second month where I personally felt that Loot Crate slacked… yet I know friends who counts this as one of their top boxes. I guess this one just needed the correct audience, and I am not part of that. However, part of me feels like I should cancel and move on to another subscription box service.

What’s the main reason I am not cancelling my subscription? What Loot Crate posted on their Twitter feed on May 16th:

I do not want to miss out on the exclusive Pop! Vinyls, mainly because the two they have had so far, GITD Groot and Joker Batman, were pretty awesome. Do I know when they are coming? No… but I hope soon.

Want to get in on future Loot Crate boxes throughout 2015? What’s the only way to guarantee that you get each month’s crate filled with awesome exclusives and other stuff? Become a subscriber.

Each month is a different theme, and each hits a different area of geekdom. Best yet, the monthly subscription is less than $20. Try it out for a month, as you can cancel at anytime.

Happy Looting!
