Let’s get this out of the way because I’m not big on burying the lead. This is the subscription box you’ve been waiting for. This is the real deal for Funko and Marvel collector’s alike. In that past year we’ve seen so many subscription boxes. Some good. Many bad. This is the first one that I’ll file under the excellent category. Why? Let’s get to that.  IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO BE SPOILED LEAVE THIS POST NOW!

Not that I would buy a box just for the box design  but man, this is a pretty awesome box. When you open it, you see a great Marvel comic style which is a nice touch and tie in to the Marvel theme.

Next, I was happy to see an “inner lid” which better protects the items below. Considering that Pop collectors can be picky (anal is another word) about cardboard condition, this will definitely help in protecting the items inside. Attached to this inner lid are two of the “premium accessories” that we were promised: a great Ultron patch and Captain America pin.

The inner lid quickly opens to show you the items you are getting. We already knew about the Hulkbuster but a quick glance shows me a Marvel Collector Corp Exclusive Dorbz and I get a small tease of the tshirt below.

We’ve seen him before obviously but what the pictures can’t do justice is the weight of this guy. He feels like a full fledge action figure not a small “vinyl”. He’s easily the most detailed Pop I’ve seen.

The next most anticipated item for me was the unrevealed “stylized vinyl figure” which turned out to be a brand new Funko product: Dorbz! This figure is a Marvel Collector Corps Exclusive Ultron Dorbz. These guys are better than I expected. They aren’t light like the mystery minis and won’t fall over. I think this line has some good potential.

When I first heard of the Collector Corps, I was excited about the Funko products but I also was intrigued by the shirt that would be included. The shirt is 90% cotton/10% polyester. It has a classic “championship wrestling match” look that I think will be popular with collectors.  Each box supposedly has 1 out of 4 designs and here’s the one I got:

Each subscription box has its own audience. Some like Loot Crate shoot for a broad audience but when you do that, you will disappoint a lot of people. This box is targeted to Marvel fans and it’s run by Funko so it’s a home run for me. Needless to say, if you love Funko and Marvel this is without a doubt the best possibly subscription box service out there.  If you haven’t signed up for the Collector Corps, don’t fret! You still have time to get the Hulkbuster by ordering at CollectorCorps.com now!  Don’t wait though. The June theme will also based on Ant Man and is rumored to be even better!
