Yesterday was Thronesday, and in tribute this week we’re showcasing our favorite stablehand and Stark Lord duo, created by themonsterkrebs. Hodor, the loveable and protective Stark servant, features in this custom POP carrying a young, crippled Brandon Stark on his back. Themonsterkrebs’ painterly style gives Hodor and Bran a stylized impressionistic touch, bringing the illustration from the 2D world into 3D.
When commissioned for this piece, themonsterkrebs stated that “They wanted bran and Hodor together (something we all want!). I am a big fan of the show so I was very driven to make the two of them in a way that would still hold onto their poppiness!” Forging on from this idea, themonsterkrebs fashioned two POP figures, the first with Hodor and Bran in their normal symbiotic state, the second with Bran skinchanging into a warg state through Hodor, and each piece finished with themonsterkrebs’ hand-brushed flair.
Winter is coming, and when the Long Night falls we think these POPs will be able to hold their own!
