Sherlock Holmes

While at Toy Fair this past weekend, I swung by and visited with the team from Titan Merchandise, who were there showcasing some of the upcoming lines of awesome products in their Titans line. For those of you who don’t know, Titans are a line of vinyl figures, represented in a variety of sizes, showcasing some of the iconic television and movie characters were all know and love. Their first, and most popular line, was based on the BBC franchise Doctor Who. However, starting in 2014 and continuing in 2015, they are expanding to a LOT of new properties, and lines within these properties. The biggest news from the weekend came from the newly announced Sherlock: The Baker Street Collection.

Releasing in September 2015, here is the official description of the series:

Based on the hit series starring Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman! Featuring ‘Consulting Detective’ Sherlock Holmes, his trusty companion Dr. John Watson as well as the manipulative James Moriarty, the mysterious Irene Adler and many more!

Each figure is 3″ blind-boxed and some come with a character specific accessory.

PLUS: 4 hidden chase figures for you to hunt and collect!”

What I find interesting is that since the concept art of the set was designed, the “221B” was dropped from the collection name. Here is the same picture from Merchandise Manager Matt Buss’ iPad this weekend.

So long "221B"

Matt also shared with me a first look at some of the 3D sculpts being worked on for the line, including what looks like two of the possible chasers: John Watson w/ mustache and Mycroft in a different suit.

Breaking Bad 4.5″ Line Collection

Another exclusive look at Toy Fair to me was the new 4.5″ line of Breaking Bad vinyls coming to market. This line will be open window boxed, unlike it’s 3″ blind boxed counterpart. This is the first time this scale is being used for Titans, as the Doctor Who line uses both 6.5″ and 8″ designs.

This collection looks to include Walter, Jesse, Saul, and probably the RV.

In addition to the 4.5″ line, on display were pics from the upcoming Breaking Bad: The Heisenberg Collection were on display. These are the standard 3″ blind boxed collection.

Cartoon Network Series

There was no concept art to go by, but Matt told me that there is a Cartoon Network series in the works, which will combine classic cartoon network characters with current characters. Really, the possibilities could be endless. Of course, we will let you know once we find out more information.

Doctor Who: Rebel Time Lord Collection

I believe we already announced this, but confirmation that the newest Doctor Who set this year will be a 12th Doctor set. Here is the concept art.

In addition to Rebel Time Lord, there will be two more collections in 2015 for Doctor Who. Following Rebel Time Lord will be a 9TH DOCTOR COLLECTION, featuring characters from the (short lived) Eccleston era of the show.

A theme for the last collection in 2015 is still being finalized. Matt did say that people are always requesting monsters, especially from the earlier doctors. Perhaps some of them will come to fruition. We shall see.

Previews of Upcoming Lines

I will end this article with a smathering look at some of the upcoming and just released lines from Titans: Alien, Dragonage, Ghostbusters, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Battlestar Galactica, and the Beatles’ Yellow Submarine.

Matt wanted to mention that they have changed the way the figures are painted. Nothing is done by hand anymore, which allows them to do more intricate details and artwork on more sculpted surfaces. The details in some of these are amazing, I must say.
