Last month, we announced that PopVinyls.com and custom artists were coming together to raise money for Toys for Tots. You can read that article HERE but basically we will be auctioning off donated custom Pops in our VK Auction House to raise money for Toys for Tots. The 2nd round of Pops for Tots Auctions are beginning Sunday night December 7th. Let’s take a look at these Guardians of the Galaxy inspired Christmas custom: Groot and Rocket Raccoon Christmas Display by Elizabeth Blair!
After receiving this awesome Groot and Rocket set (which I’m totally bidding on) I asked Elizabeth a few questions!
What got you into making custom Pops?
enjoy working on projects and crafts so it was a natural choice to move into working on pop customs. I love the characters that Funko puts out but there are so many they are either not going to make or have not decided to produce yet.
How long have you been making customs?
I have only been working on customs for about a month or so. This is my first complete piece.
What is the favorite custom you have made?
I am looking forward to several projects on my list, especially some Jane Austen pieces.
What was the inspiration for the piece you created for our Pops for Tots auctions?
It took me a few days to come up with the design for the piece, but I wanted something that would really capture a great past time for most people-decorating their Christmas tree. Groot and Rocket just seemed like a great idea since I could picture them actually doing something like this.
How can people see other customs of yours and commission their own?
Ido not have a page yet but I will either be posting random work on will be making an Funko Trading by Popvinyls.com until I create my artist page
