Even though Loot Crates have been appearing in homes across America and Internationally last week, Loot Crate asked everyone to not reveal its’ contents until today. That being said, here is this month’s review of the “FEAR” Loot Crate.

Let’s take a look at this month’s offerings.

1. Death by Kitten T-Shirt- Loot Crate Exclusive

Seeing as I am allergic to cats, I would have been happier if this was a “Death TO Kitten” T-Shirt. However, it’s a cute yet creepy shirt, and will probably be worked into my con shirt ensemble.

2. Sledgesaw Hammer Pen- Loot Crate Exclusive

I am not a fan of Deadrising 3, but I am familiar with the Sledgesaw. This is a pretty cool pen version of it, but I have yet to figure out if it can be refilled. If it can, awesome! if it can’t, not even worth trying to write with it. Still, a fun exclusive from Capcom and Loot Crate.

3. How to Survive a Sharknado Book

Just skimming the pages, this looks like a fun book that includes not just Sharknados, but also Bigfoot. Looking forward to sitting down and reading it.

4.”Oh, Brother” Art Print by JSalvador

Part of his SuperEmoFriends line of art, JSalvador did a great take on Merle and Daryl from The Walking Dead. He is also featured in this month’s magazine. Pretty cool.

5. The Walking Dead (Issue 132)- Loot Crate Exclusive Variant Cover

Variant Cover of an awesome comic book series. Nuff said.

6. Tattoos, Smite Gift Card, and Toxic Candy

A few more fun little tidbits included in this month’s crate, as well as my Looters Card. The Smite Card is an exclusive to Loot Crate, though I am not exactly sure what it does. Never been a fan of super sour candy. Tattoos could be a hit for Halloween.

7. 3D Magazine, 3D Glasses, and Button

This month’s cover comes in 3D, and the glasses are provided. The cover really stands out when the glasses are put on. Inside the magazine is an exclusive interview with The Walking Dead’s Robert Kirkman, and well as that of the artist previously mentioned JSalvador.

All in all, I am on the fence about this crate. It’s not the best crate out there, but I do like some other items, especially the art print. Could the crate have been better for a toy collector like me? Of course. However, Loot Crate does not guarantee a toy, vinyl, etc. in each month’s box.

Others have been asking “Where is the Funko item?” or “When will the next Funko item appear?”. Since Funko started including exclusive items in the crates a couple of months ago, some people, I feel, are expecting this to be each month. It won’t be. It’s a themed box of stuff from different companies, not just Funko.

That being said, Look Crate announced this past week the following tweet:

loot

Does this mean that November will feature an exclusive Pop! Vinyl from Funko? Probably not, being that the protos just came in to Loot Crate. However, stranger things have happened.

I know some of you missed out on the August crate that included the exclusive GITD Groot Pop! vinyl. what’s the best way to guarantee that you get any upcoming exclusive Funko products when they come out in the crates? By becoming a subscriber.

Each month is a different theme, and each hits a different area of geekdom. Best yet, the monthly subscription is less than $20. Try it out for a month, as you can cancel at anytime. However, I am sticking with Loot Crate because I don’t want to miss out on anything special coming from Funko. Also, Capcom announced at SDCC this summer that they will have a Megaman inspired exclusive in the November crate. I am a big fan of Megaman, so this will be a treat.

Happy Looting!
