At New York Comic Con 2014, the United States Postal Service and DC Entertainment held a special event on Thursday before the convention started for the First Day of Issue of a new Batman Forever stamp series.
The event, hosted by radio personality Ralph Garman, included appearances by James Cochrane, USPS’ CIO and Executive Vice President; Greg Breeding, designer of the stamp sheet; and Jim Lee and Dan DiDio, DC Entertainment’s Co-Publishers. During the event, it was announced that Batman was indeed a stamp collector. After the official reveal and a short Q&A, fans gathered to purchase special merchandise and meet with Jim and Dan for a special signing.
The Batman Limited Edition stamps are being issued as Forever stamps and will be equal in value to the current First-Class Mail 1-ounce price. All 80 million stamps are available nationwide today.
