Custom artist Bethany Norris, my wife, wasn’t always a wrestling fan. Actually I would say she hated it for awhile. Then I noticed a change. She would start asking me questions about certain wrestlers or moves. I’d challenge her by saying “You like wrestling now! Admit it!” She would deny it but I knew it was true. One of her favorites has been Zack Ryder and she volunteered to make a custom of Zack Ryder….for Zack Ryder. Take a look at her with her first WWE custom design.
First, she sculpted the hair and bandana. She chose the following photo as her inspiration for Zack’s look.
You can’t do everything exact with a Pop but that was the Zack Ryder she wanted to create. Bethany hand paints all her customs. No airbrush, no stencils. I wish my hand could be that steady for anything. She estimates it took hours of time spread over a week to get the hair to look the way she wanted. Here’s some closer looks of Zack Ryder.
I’m not exactly comfortable with the amount of time it took her to paint the face on the front of his wrestling gear. lol
She couldn’t forget to include the 516!
