Staff writer and admin Ross McCoy received a “clarification” today in regards to Hot Topic carrying SDCC exclusives, Hot Topic Exclusives and a few more things. Read below:

I wanted to help clear up a few things surrounding Hot Topic and some of the SDCC exclusives. SDCC & Hot Topic Exclusives: Frozen Anna, GITD Olaf, Headless Hershel and beat up Buffy are shared Comic-Con Exclusives and will be available online and in stores at Hot Topic soon. Flocked Rocket is also a shared exclusive but will only be available from Hot Topic online. Rey Mysterio was originally meant to be a SDCC Exclusive but will now be a Hot Topic exclusive only. Black-haired Goku will be a Hot Topic exclusive and not a SDCC exclusive. Limit on Pops: As of right now, Hot Topic does not have a limit on product purchases, which includes Pop! Vinyl. They are aware of some isolated incidents where people come in and buy all pieces for re-sale. They are addressing this internally and will give us an update if any new policies are set in place. Employees do not have restrictions on buying Pop! Vinyls. There are a lot of collectors who work there also. The only exception to this is the 1/24 glitter MLP variants where employees cannot purchase them for 2 weeks.
