Toy Fair 2014: Diamond Select Toys Preview- Pop Vinyls.com

During Toy Fair, I was able to visit with Diamond Select Toys and see what they are coming out with for 2014. From action figures and prop replicas to the perennial favorite Minimates. There are some really fun stuff on the way. Check it out. (Included are descriptions provided by DST, where applicable.)

A Diamond Select Toys Release! Look, up in the sky, it’s Bluntman and Chronic! The comic book heroes created by director Kevin Smith and featured in “Jay & SIlent Bob Strike Back” are now a pair of Retro-style 8″ action figures! Each figure includes a real fabric costume and a removable weapon, and will fit into your 8″ retro collection like it was made in the 1970s! Designed and sculpted by EMCE Toys!

Also on display from the universe of Kevin Smith were previews of Minimates and action figures from the Clerks line.

Pulp Fiction Minimates Jules & Vincent 2-Pack

A Diamond Select Toys Release! The first Minimates based on Pulp Fiction, the star-studded movie that made Quentin Tarantino a household name, are here, and the first two-pack features hitmen Vincent Vega and Jules Winnfield in their iconic black suits! Each two-inch mini-figure has 14 points of articulation and features a variety of interchangeable parts and accessories, including pistols, hamburger, shake and the mysterious briefcase! Also from the Quentin Tarantino universe will be Minimates from the Kill Bill movies.

Sin City Movie Minimates Series 1 Box Set

A Diamond Select Toys Release! The most dangerous city on Earth is now a far less dangerous line of Minimates mini-figures! The first assortment of black-and-white Minimates based on Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller’s hit movie Sin City includes four different mini-figures from “That Yellow Bastard”: Hartigan, Nancy, Senator Roark and the Yellow Bastard himself. Each 2-inch mini-figure features a variety of interchangeable parts and accessories. Designed and sculpted by Art Asylum!

Also shown were more Minimates sets, as well as a line of action figures.

Walking Dead

The 2014 Walking Dead offerings include Minimates and Bust Banks.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

New for 2014, the TMNT line will include Minimates (not pictured, asked to not take pics) and Bust Banks.

Star Trek

2014 will see some new ship releases, Bust Banks (not pictured, asked to not take pics), and a replica Phaser from Star Trek III.

Universal Monsters

A yearly favorite, DST will be releasing some Universal Monsters action figures.

Star Wars

The line of Bust Banks will continue into 2014.

Alien

I could not take pictures of a lot of the Alien stuff, but there are some awesome things coming. Here are a few of the Minimates that will be released.

Godzilla

The classic Godzilla movies will find some love in 2014 with statues, Bust Banks, and Minimates. Some of the product I could not take pictures of.

Batman Classic TV Series

Batman Classic TV Series Joker Bust

A Diamond Select Toys Release! DST continues their line of busts based on the Batman Classic TV Show, and this one is no joke! Hot on the heels of Batman, it’s The Joker, as played by Cesar Romero, with his painted-over mustache and all! This bust measures approximately 6 inches tall, and is a must-have for any Classic Batman TV Show fan. Designed by Barry Bradfield! Sculpted by Jean St. Jean!

Also on hand were other busts from the line.

Marvel

(Notice the My Little Pony logo? There is stuff coming, but I could not photograph it.)

Big year for Marvel. Release of some pretty huge movies. DST will be re-releasing some of the more popular Marvel Select figures that were once Disney Store exclusives as wide release. Also released are a sweet looking Spider-Man bust, as well as a statue.

For Captain America: Winter Solider, look for action figures and Minimates.

Amazing Spider-Man 2 will also see Minimates, as well as a Spider-Man action figure.

I could not take a picture of the Guardians of the Galaxy Minimates, but they are pretty sweet… and Rocket Raccoon is his own special sculpt and smaller than the other Minimates.

Finally, Marvel Universe will see some love with another series of Minimates for 2014.

Ghostbusters

Saving the best for last, in addition to the Stay-Puft banks already out, and the Minimates boxed set, we will be seeing a Burnt Stay Puft bank released this year.
